Bundeena Physiotherapy and Pilates
Louise has been fascinated by holistic health, wellbeing and movement/exercise since she was a teenager. Louise completed her Bachelor of Medical Science and a Diploma of Remedial Massage before completing her Bachelor of Applied Science (Physiotherapy) in 2002.
Originally drawn to Physiotherapy due to its’ focus on assisting clients to regain their quality of life. Following injury or illness, through symptom management, restoring healthy movement and teaching clients how to care for their body and wellbeing. Louise has a wide range of Physiotherapy experience including rehabilitation, exercise prescription (particularly strength and pilates training), pain management, post-surgical, chronic care, aged care/deconditioning, falls-prevention, neurological, chest physiotherapy, Telehealth and some continence training. Having considerable experience with clients with chronic respiratory and cardiac conditions Louise finds strength training, pilates exercises and stretches extremely helpful for assisting with breathlessness, posture and the musculoskeletal concerns that often accompany chronic medical conditions or age-related deconditioning. Louise completed formal Pilates teacher training with APPI. Outside of work, Louise enjoys skiing, indoor rock-climbing, yoga, pilates, gym, travelling and spending time in nature with her young daughter, husband and giant dog. |
