Bundeena is a small, coastal suburb nestled adjacent to the Royal National Park in southern Sydney. Bordered by pristine Port Hacking waterway, stunning stretches of sandy beaches and the beautiful Royal National Park, this area truly is a nature lover’s paradise. Access to Bundeena is either by private vehicle or by ferry from Cronulla (20 minute trip in quaint timber ferry).
There are several places to stay in the area including 5 star B&B accommodation, beach houses, bush cabins and Bonnie Vale Campground.
A small shopping strip (just near the ferry wharf) has several cafes, a takeaway, post office, chemist, real estate, gift shops, physio and GP. There are 2 local clubs – the Bundeena Community Services Club which overlooks the water and the Bowling Club. Both clubs serve lunch and dinner.

Fun Things to Do in Bundeena
- Enjoy the one-way coastal walk from Bundeena to Wattamolla (Wedding Cake Rock and Marley Beaches are along the way – try booking an Uber for return trip) – plan for about 4 hours
- Walk the Jibbon Loop and check out the Aboriginal Rock Carvings
- Hire a kayak or paddle board at Bundeena Kayaks or book in for a guided kayak tour (run daily)
- Bike ride along the Marley fire service trail (bumpy but fun!)
- Walk the Art Trail (1st Sunday each month) www.arttrail.com.au
- Camp at the Bonnie Vale picnic grounds
- Go fishing at any of the local beaches or rocky points
- Have a picnic at the Bonnie Vale picnic grounds
- Â Paddle by kayak or paddle board to Cabbage Tree Basin (need to plan this trip around the tides – gear hire available from Bundeena Kayaks)
- Explore the sandflats out the front of Maianbar (need to go at low tide) and have a coffee afterwards at Maianbar Cafe
